ALEXANDER DUFF ROCK
September 21, 1933 - January 3, 2021
Al was born in Winnipeg, to David and Anne, growing up in the West End. He was married and moved to East St. Paul where he raised three children. He worked for the City of Winnipeg as a Supervisor for Traffic Services for 32 years, a job he loved. Alex enjoyed spending time with friends and family, hunting, fishing, and gardening. He also enjoyed many bus trips to the Shooting Star Casino with friends. Weekly lotto tickets (with the same numbers) were a must! Alex was a lifelong fan of The Young and Restless and enjoyed many movies and TV shows. If you wanted to know the score of a Winnipeg Jets or Blue Bomber game, he was the person to ask!
Al will be greatly missed by his loving partner Vera Hume; children, David (Stephanie), Charlene (Dave) and Trevor (Nancy), and their mother Marjorie; and grandchildren, Kurtis, Brendan, Erin, Liana, and Owen. He will be greatly missed by his stepchildren, Janice (Dan), Dale (Audra), Scott (Val); and step-grandchildren, Stephen (Ali), Chantal (Tino), Janelle, Kamille; and great-grandchild Danika.
A special thank you to the staff at the Riverview Health Centre Day Program, Charleswood Adult Club and Prime, for the care and friendships he made over the past several years. The family is especially appreciative of the home care staff, Kanora in particular.
As per Alex's wishes cremation has taken place. A small family gathering will take place when safe to do so.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alex's name to the Canadian Police Association and Firefighter's Burn Fund.

Extending Sincere Sympathy to Vera and families. Alex will be sadly missed by all. We will miss the phone calls about what’s on sale, and the half time calls to discuss the hockey game. We are left with so many good memories, of the good times we shared. Rest In Peace Dear Friend. Until we meet again. Ron & Marilyn Trickett - Posted by: Marilyn Trickett (Friend) on: Jan 16, 2021
