GEORGE SWEENEY
October 20, 1944 - January 18, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of the passing of our very proud and loving Dad and Papa, George McFall Sweeney, on January 18, 2021, after the most courageous battle with AML (cancer).
Dad is remembered for his independence and his fierce strength and determination. Having arrived in Canada from Scotland in 1968 as a very young man, Dad set out to make a life with his then wife (Sandra) and infant daughter (Lynne). As Dad assimilated into the Canadian way of life, he expanded his family with the birth of a son (Jason) and embraced the local soccer community, a place where we developed many lifelong friendships.
In keeping with Dad's wishes we will celebrate his life with a small gathering of family and friends at a later date, when gatherings of this nature are permitted. In the meantime, George's family kindly requests that his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by visiting his tribute page at EthicalDeathCare.com.
