MARIA DEMELO
Maria was predeceased by her loving husband Daniel and her warm-hearted grandson Nelson Pacheco. She will be missed by her children, Daniel (Vina), Lucy, Fatima (Joe) and David (Adelia). She will be greatly missed by her ten grandchildren and her 16 great-grandchildren.
Mom was born in Sao Jorge, Azores, Portugal where she resided for 37 years. Following her immigration to Winnipeg, she was employed by the Manitoba Club as a housekeeper for 17 years. She radiated joy and happiness in every aspect of her life, but most importantly, within her family, which was her pride and joy. She was most happy when she entertained her family with great parties and feasts for all to enjoy. She was always there to take care of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved it dearly everyday.
The family would like to thank the Middlechurch care home staff and give special thanks to Shayne and Patty for their care and compassion while looking after mom.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 472 Kirkfield Street. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery.
