CLARENCE (LARRY) GIESBRECHT
September 4, 1948 - January 11, 2021
Larry was a man of faith and family. Left to celebrate his life are his wife Marianne; daughter Candice (Joel); sisters, Irene and Viola (Heinz); brother Dennis (Sandy); and brother-in-law Frank. Larry was predeceased by his parents, Jac and Helen Giesbrecht and by his sister Elma.
"...I hope people remember the times we laughed together...." This is what Larry wanted to leave with his family and friends.
Larry requested that there be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. In the meantime, Larry's family kindly requests that his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by visiting his tribute page at EthicalDeathCare.com where stories and memories, published by those who knew him, are available.
The family would like to thank the CancerCare specialists at Health Sciences Centre and Victoria General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Larry's name to Harvest Manitoba.

I worked for many years with Larry, and he was first a mentor, then a colleague, and always a friend. Larry taught me many lessons over the years and always operated with integrity. He was a very good reporter, but an even better man. My heart goes out to his family. - Posted by: Glen Cassie (former co-worker) on: Feb 04, 2021

I first met Larry back in the 80s when I started in Broadcasting. Larry was part of CKY/CTV News' "Provincial News Unit" at the time. Being the rookie, I felt out of place around the pros I was working with. I quickly learned how great of a guy Larry was, and will always cherish those times. He truly was a great man. - Posted by: R Pennington (Former Coworker) on: Jan 26, 2021
