KENNETH ROBERT MCCRACKEN
July 6, 1946 - January 24, 2021

With heavy hearts, we announce that Ken Robert McCracken suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on January 24, 2021 at his residence, at the age of 74 years.
Leaving to mourn, with fond and loving memories, are his wife of 49 years, Edith; sons, Montey and Michael (Rachel); grandson Chace; sisters, Pat Buhler and Joyce (Jim) Brown of Cranbrook, BC; sisters-in-law, Shirley (Orest) Drewniak, Wendy Dyke (Andy Howe), Michelle (Jerry) Raike; and many nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and an abundance of friends. He was predeceased by his mother Agnes Theresa Schindler in 2001; father Robert Alan McCracken in the early 1980s; brother-in-law William "Bill" Clayton Myketiuk (Brenda) on May 4, 2009; mother-in-law Evelyn Margaret Smith on June 24, 1994.
Always larger than life, and so loving and kind, he liked nothing more than to entertain folks with many stories and endless jokes. He was incredibly good at making people laugh due to his fantastic sense of humour!
Ken worked 35 years for CN Rail, retiring at the age of 55. He loved volunteering at the Pan Am Summer Games in Manitoba, and, for many years, at the Earl Grey Community Centre. Ken was everyone's favourite bingo caller.

Rest easy Ken 'til we meet again!
You are so loved!
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal.
Love leaves a memory no one can steal!!
You will dearly be missed
by all who knew you.

A huge thank you to the first responders and the doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Boniface General Hospital. A special thank you to Marcia LaPerre and Sean Shimaro for your help during this very difficult time.
In accordance with Ken's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. Ken's family kindly requests that his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by visiting his tribute page at EthicalDeathCare.com. A photo-biography, as well as memories and stories published by those who knew him, are available there.
Flowers graciously declined, donating in Ken's honour, to a charity of one's choice is sincerely appreciated by the family.

A friendly smile, a casual touch, These are the things that mean so much, To know you are with us, in our time of sorrow, Sharing our prayers, today and tomorrow, God gives us comfort in the form of good friends, May His peace be with you, His love never ends. Remember me with a smile today; I was not one for tears. Reflect instead on memories of all our happy years. Recall minding the way
I spoke, all the things I said. My strength,
my stance, and the way I laughed.
Remember these instead.
