ROBERT MOROZ

With broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Brother, Robert Moroz, following a short illness. Bob was born at St. Boniface Hospital on April 21, 1941, and passed away there on January 27, 2021.
A product of Winnipeg's North End, Bob spent his early years in Point Douglas. In his childhood, he enjoyed train trips to Vancouver with his sister, Joy, where they spent the summers playing at the beach and getting into innocent mischief with their cousins. He attended Sisler High School and was scouted by American college football teams for his defensive skills as a linebacker. A lover of the outdoors, Bob camped, fished and hunted ducks with friends and family alike.
He married his wife of 54 years, Pennie (nee Emes) in Winnipeg in 1966, and five years later relocated to Vancouver where their children, Derek and Erin were born. They returned to Winnipeg in 1977 where they raised their family. Bob spent most of his career working with the City of Winnipeg and retired in 2003.
Bob's family was the most important thing in his world. He was a selfless Dad and was an ever-present fixture at hockey, ringette, soccer and volleyball games - whether it be in the bitter cold at an outdoor rink or 8:00 a.m. courtside, he was always there. His four grandchildren were the light of his life and he will be dearly missed by Elliot, Carter, Simon and Hadley. He enjoyed many trips with Pennie over the years to visit his daughter's family in Canmore, Alberta, and joked it was his second home.
He is survived by his wife, Pennie, and children, Derek (Bobbi-Jo) and Erin (Dave) and their families. He will be dearly missed by his sister Joy Thurston and his nephews, Brad and Brent.
He was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Stella, and his brother-in-law Larry Thurston.
We cannot believe he is gone, and we will love and miss him always. Bob, Dad, Grandpa, you are forever loved.
In Bob's memory, donations to KidSport Manitoba are appreciated.

When our children were growing up we were often meeting at rinks, playing fields and the likes and Bob and Pennie would always have a pleasant hello and conversation.
