YVONNE DOLORES KEARNEY
(nee PROUT)
July 17, 1933 - February 8, 2021
Remaining to cherish her memory is her sister Elaine; her son Derek (Karen); grandsons, Lev (Ashleigh) and Kyle (Rocheen); great-grandchildren, Logan, Aiden, Emily, Liam and Peyton; as well as many other extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Goldie and Peggy Prout.
Throughout her life, Mom's warm, positive personality, independent spirit and job opportunities allowed her to make many friends while living in Calgary and Toronto, but Dauphin was where she called home. After she retired, she moved to Winnipeg to be near family. She loved spending time with us, baking cookies for her grandsons, enjoying activities with friends, swimming in her apartment pool with family and friends and volunteering at Concordia Hospital. Mom would greet everyone she met with a kind word.
Thank you to the staff at Concordia Place for providing a warm and comfortable place for her to live for the past five years.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society.

I just saw this in passing, and although I don't know you Derek, nor did I know your mom, I'm a friend of Karen's....and I want to pass along my condolences on the passing of your mother( & grandmother to your children). I lived in Dauphin from about 1962 to 1965, so I'm sure that I likely met her at the drugstore in those years. My maiden name was Stewart, at that time. Derek and Family, so sorry to read of passing of your mother. In 1965 I purchased the drugstore in Dauphin where Dolores was working. She remained with me for several years and was a wonderful employee and friend as well as an asset to the store, I'm syre that you will miss her dearly.
