EDMOND HORMIDAS LACASSE
October 10, 1941 - March 29, 2021
He leaves behind his cherished best friend and wife of 57 years, Simone (Neveux), his children, Charmaine, Brigitte and Jason, and grandchildren, Skylar, Chanelle, Dominic and Alessia. Ed was predeceased by his son Patrick (in infancy), his parents, Aurele and Ida (Gobeil), his brother Claude, and many members of his extended family.
Born and raised in Otterburne, MB, Ed obtained his B.A. and B.ED. from the University of Manitoba. Upon completion of his studies, he devoted the following 34 years as teacher and administrator primarily in St. Pierre and St. Malo. Ed enjoyed contributing to the community, be it baseball, hockey, volunteering at the local arena, or coordinating many after school activities.
In retirement, Ed treasured his time "puttering" around the yard, and spending time with Simone, close friends, and a close canine named "Bouncy". With Simone by his side, he enjoyed his travels to the coasts of Canada, wintering in Texas, and sailing the high seas. His cruises took him from Alaska to the Caribbean islands, the Panama Canal and many stops in between.
Ed led a private and simple life, and cherished the "little things". He was always supportive of his children and rejoiced in the happiness of others.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in his memory.
Cremation has taken place as per Dad's wishes and due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private funeral will be held at the St. Pierre Parish.
We bid you farewell and "bon voyage" as you sail away peacefully to your next port.
Bye Dad...sail away...we love you.

Jason, My deepest sympathy. I had the honor of having your dad as a principal at Ecole St-Malo. He was strict, fair and very respected which made him my favorite principal. I just wanted to share my condolences as you had done for me so long ago. - Posted by: Rita Pilotte (High-school friend) on: Apr 08, 2021
