ERVIN ALFRED ROBINSON
February 7, 1940 - March 31, 2021
He was predeceased (by nine months) by his loving wife of 57 years, Jean. He is survived by his daughter Kit (Kristen) Houston (Donald); son Scott Robinson (Lynne); and daughter Paige Harms (Bruce). Over the years, Jean and Ervin's family grew into a loving brood of grandchildren. "Pa" will be dearly missed by Blake Houston (Erica), Sarah Houston (Andrew Okenwa), Claire Robinson (Noah Crossman), Brianna Harms (Liam Ginter), and his beloved great-granddaughter, Amara Okenwa; with whom he shared waffles, dances and many stories.
Erv was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba in 1940 to Alfred and Pearl Robinson and he was predeceased by his sister Verna (born 1938) (Ivan Williams). He began working at the Royal Bank in town at a young age, and remained with RBC for over 35 years. His job moved him frequently in the early years. One such move took him to Atikokan, Ontario where he met the love of his life, Jean Shields. They were married there in 1963. Their marriage was long and loving; filled with many new 'adventures'. Each time Erv was transferred, Jean made a beautiful new home for them. They were a team. A team that only grew stronger with each new child.
Ervin and family loved camping, often joined by close friends. "Erv" was impossible to dislike so he made friends quickly and easily. He was always there with a dry joke - or a helping hand. He leaves behind lifelong friends who will also miss him very much.
The world has lost a "true gentleman" but we find comfort knowing he has reunited with his beloved wife. Rest in peace, Dad.

I had the pleasure to work for Erv at my very first branch posting. He was always very kind, funny, fair and treated everyone with utmost respect and a smile everydaY. Erv and I were high school classmates, scouting buddies and bike riding pals growing up in Minnedosa. We rode our bikes many times out to the Robinson Farm a couple of miles outside of Minnedosa and had many adventures. Erv ultimately left me in the dust as he graduated to a motorcycle and I couldn't convince my parents to let me have one so I stayed bike ridden!! Erv was a great friend and pal throughout highschool at Crossley Collegiate. Condolances to his family. Per Ardua ad Astra!
