WALTER KOHUCH
(GEDO)
February 4, 1942 - May 15, 2021

Peacefully on Saturday, May 15, 2021 Walter Kohuch passed away at the age of 79, with his wife Eleanor by his side at the Poseidon Care Home. He battled cancer for over two years.
Dad was the youngest of 13 siblings and proud of his family and heritage. He was born to Alex and Anastasia Kohuch in the district of Mears in the RM of Rossburn, MB. Dad married mom on June 3, 1967 and together they raised three children, Dwayne, Kevin and Shelly.
Walter enjoyed family gatherings and the simple things life offers. Always quick to ask you your last name and where you're from. Dad worked 30 years for Winnipeg School Division custodial and boilers.
Cremation has taken place and Walter will be laid to rest at Brookside Military Cemetery. A service will be held at Holy Family Ukrainian Church at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • With heavy heart I send condolences to Aunt Eleanor, Dwayne and Kevin and your families on the passing of Uncle Walter. Over his life he connected with many and always had a smile and a kind word. Aside from family gatherings I often had the pleasure to chat with him at Deer Lodge where as a Commissioner he often worked shifts. He will be missed by his very large extended family. RIP Uncle. - Posted by: Edith Stephenson (niece) on: May 22, 2021

  • I knew Walter only from the neighbourhood. He was a very friendly man and was always cheerful. He usually went for his daily run or walk and would return down our back lane. He always had his dog with him. He would stop to chat with anyone on his way home who happened to be outside. It was usually a short visit but he was good to talk with. He always had something interesting to say. My sincere condolences to his family. - Posted by: Al (Neighbour) on: May 22, 2021
