PHYLLIS MARY PROKIPCHUK
October 11, 1942 - May 23, 2021
Phyllis was the second of seven children, born in Shaunavon, SK. She was predeceased by her parents, Agnes and Wilfred; her sister Anita; as well as her lifelong best friends, Doremis and Tanis.
Phyllis is survived by her husband and love of her life for 40 years, Peter; her children, Randy (Susan), Murray, Jeff (Sharyn) and Kelly (Shaun); grandchildren, Matthew, James, Erika, Jake, Lia, Maegan and Logan; two great-grandsons; sisters, Rosemary (Orville) and Brenda (Wilf); brothers, David (Mae), Lawrence (Marion) and Ed (Bonnie); numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and many loyal friends she gathered throughout the years.
Phyllis was the most considerate woman who cared deeply for those in her life. She was loved by all who met her. She always had an ear to lend, patience and tolerance beyond belief and acceptance for all, never judging. No one was ever beneath her, and she would do all in her power to help. She was the ultimate people person! Phyllis had always been a warrior, a pillar of strength and resilience, and of course, a little bit stubborn. Phyllis loved with all of her heart, especially her family.
We can picture Mom right now in Heaven, surrounded by loved ones, in the most glorious garden of flowers!
We are so very grateful to everyone, especially to her precious granddaughter Erika, who had a very special bond with Grandma. Erika has been a saving grace, there every day for Grandma, no matter what, helping with appointments, medicine and just loving and taking care of Grandma and Grandpa. Grandma loved you beyond measure, Erika!
Special thank you to the St. Boniface Palliative Care Team, Dr. Sharma and the nurses, her nurse practitioner, Nicole Bennett and the team at Access Transcona. Nicole, we know you had a special place in your heart for our mom.

Peter... we were so sorry to hear that Phyllis had passed away. I will always remember her smile and laugh and her conversations we would have. As Sherry stated, we always enjoyed the times at Baba Zdrill's house, uncle Bernie's cabin at Moth Lake, and special family occasions that you both attended!! Eventhough we haven't seen you both for a long time, the memories have never left us when we have reminisced with mom about days long ago. My sincere condolences to Peyer and the Shellenberg family. Phyllis was a very dear friend to our family throughout my life and best friend to Tanis. She treated me like I was her little brother and I respected her for that always. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by myself. Pete, so sad to have read of Phyllis's passing. Myself and our family have loads of great memories of Phyllis, whether it was from get togethers at Baba's in Transcona, Uncle Bernie & Aunty Sylvia's or at the cottage. Our deepest sympathy to your family. I always remember my brother Mike, who attended Red River College back in the day (70's) and not knowing anyone in Winnipeg, Phyllis took Mike under her wing and gave him a family home to go when he was feeling lonely.
