DAVID JAMES BOWER

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of David James Bower, of Winnipeg on May 25, 2021 at the age of 70 years. David passed away after a two year battle with cancer.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 49 years, Sharon Bower and their two children, Chad and wife Heather Bower, and Chelsea and husband Chris Velasco. Also missing him will be his sisters, Edie Stubbs, Ruth and her husband Bill Panter; in-laws, Warren and Terry Norman, and Wayne and Cheryl Norman, and many nieces and nephews.
David was predeceased by his parents, James and Olga, and by his brother-in-law Rod Stubbs.
As a family we are truly grateful for the love and support from the brothers and sisters in the truth. The calls, texts, and meals, were always timely and so thoughtful.
The family would also like to thank Dr. Paul, Dr. Ogaranko, Lana, Maureen and the Riverview Palliative care team. The care he received from these individuals was exceptional in their professionalism, support and concern.
Although it breaks our hearts to see him pass, we are brought comfort through our hope that in the near future we will be reunited through Jehovah's promise of the resurrection. (Acts 24:15)

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Sharon & family: I am so very, very sorry to read of the loss of your beloved husband Dave. I remember him fondly (& Larry) from visits to the office regarding photocopier machines, whether it be a purchase or repair and/or maintenance. He was very professional, friendly and helpful and always well-dressed. Larry was too for that matter. I can hardly imagine you without him. You were such a lovely couple. Our heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family and friends. Our sincerest condolences, Marjorie Zimmer & Paul Jackson, Kenora, On. - Posted by: Marjorie Zimmer (acquaintance) on: Jun 04, 2021

  • Our sincere sympathy to you Sharon and family. We will always remember how you and Dave were so hospitable towards Ward and he certainly cherished you both, Wayne too of course. We know it will be just a short time before you will see him again and know Jehovah will give you the strength to carry on til then. Our warm Christian love, Dieter and Anorah - Posted by: Dieter & Anorah Becker (Friends) on: Jun 02, 2021

  • Dear Sharon, Chad & family, my deepest heartfelt sympathies to you at this time. I've never forgotten your kind hospitality when I was in the same congregation yrs ago. One thing I treasured was that whenever I visited your hall, brother David always remembered my name when he said hello. So positive & caring as you are Sharon. Thanks for always welcoming me warmly. Prayers of strength, hope & comfort. Jehovah & Christ tender mercies be with you always. Agape Hugs & Love, Madlene - Posted by: madlene roulette (spiritual sister & friend) on: Jun 01, 2021

  • Sharon, Chad, Chelsea & families. I was so sad to hear of Dave’s passing and although his pain and struggle is over I know your hearts are breaking and in deep pain on losing such a precious family member. We are so grateful to our God Jehovah for the beautiful beautiful gift of the resurrection hope that will strengthen and buoy you up as you await the time when you will be together again to laugh, love & enjoy life without pain, without sorrow. I so loved Dave’s talks, his kindness and his wonderful sense of humour! - Posted by: Bonny Rogers (Friend) on: May 29, 2021

  • We we so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. We remember always enjoying visiting with Dave and Sharon and their kids at many circuit assemblies (as they were called then). We also remember the many parts he had at the assemblies and conventions. Dave was so easy to talk to and had a great sense of humor. We look so forward to seeing Dave again. Until then please take comfort in knowing your loved one is safe in God’s memory, who will remember every detail about him and bring him back again.
