JACK ALLAN HUTCHISON

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Allan Hutchison on May 31, 2021.
Jack is survived by his daughter Cara Hutchison; his former wife and friend Adele Hutchison; sister Louise Knight; and several nieces. He was predeceased by his father John Hutchison; mother Dorothy Hutchison; and his sister Marge Hutchison.
Jack was born in Winnipeg on December 22, 1942. He was a doting father and enjoyed spending time with his daughter. He taught her many things from car and house maintenance, fence building, gardening, money management, and the list goes on.
Jack was a car enthusiast and always had a car project underway. He was a master at being able to build, fix or repair almost anything. If a problem presented itself, he would work tirelessly to figure out how things worked and proceed to fix them. He shared these talents with others and was very generous with his time and his expertise. Friends and family were very grateful for his willingness to help out.
Jack also enjoyed fishing and spending time at the lake. He had a soft heart for people and animals in need. He fed birds in his yard, adopted stray cats and kittens and made sure they were cared for. He had a big heart and was exceptionally generous in many, many ways with people and animals.
There will be no funeral. Jack has been cremated and will join several other family members, with a plaque on the Boardwalk of Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba.
Contributions, in Jack's honour, may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Jack and I worked together for many years at UMA. I thoroughly enjoyed the many chats we had about life, work, family and world events. Jack ran an efficient print department in a very busy engineering operation, but yet always appeared calm under pressure. He was a good mentor to many" newbies" when joining the company. After I retired, I would bump into him occasionally at the Gimli grocery store and he was always happy to chat. So glad he was able to enjoy many good years of retirement. Dave joins me in offering our condolences to you Cara and Adele. - Posted by: Shirley Edmonds (former co-worker) on: Jun 13, 2021

  • Following the death of your father, Jack A. Hutchison, we offer you, Cara, our deepest condolences. Our thoughts are also with your mother Adele, family and friends. Jack aimait la nature dans son sens large et la mécanique, la pêche et la protection des animaux. Un homme, un père aux multiples facettes ce qui le rendait unique. Son esprit ingénieux saura vous accompagner pour la suite de vos vies. Famille Demers-Carle - Posted by: Famille Demers-Carle (Friendly family) on: Jun 09, 2021

  • Sorry to hear of your loss. I knew Jack when he and I worked together at UMA Group. He was my boss, but always willing to help me with I got too busy. And he always had a smile on his face or a joke to tell. R.I.P. Jack - Posted by: Jim Jones (Former co-worker) on: Jun 07, 2021
