CATHERINE MORRISON
(nee RYCHLICKI)
September 11, 1961 - June 21, 2021

Suddenly, with family at her side, Cathie, age 59, passed away on June 21, 2021 at her home in Teulon, MB.
Cathie was predeceased by her father, Mike (2019) and mother, Sandra (2019). Cathie will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her partner Ken Klochko (Kyle and Taylor); brother Brian Rychlicki (Irene); half-sister Mary Ann Van Walleghem (Marc, Josh, Christina); nephews, Kevin Rychlicki and Jeffrey Rychlicki.
Cathie was born in Winnipeg, MB and raised there until age five when the family, along with her baba (Mary Klowak) and uncle (Bill Klowak) moved to Binscarth, MB. She liked serving customers in the family-owned restaurant hotel. She enjoyed spending time at the 4H club and singing at school concerts with her many friends. She loved family events and visits from her aunts, uncles, cousins and other family friends. At age 12, she moved back to Winnipeg and attended Salisbury School, Morse Place Jr. High School and graduated from Miles Macdonell Collegiate. She loved going to bars to disco dance and watching movies at the downtown theatres with her girlfriends. Cathie had various jobs including her first at Vic's Drive-in in Transcona, Gulf Gas, Manager at Sunoco Gas, and Materials Management at Boeing Canada. She enjoyed going to the lake and making crafts which were then sold at craft shows. In 2006 she met her soulmate, Ken who was a match made in heaven. They eventually moved into their dream home in Teulon where they raised Kyle and Taylor. Cathie had a special relationship with her mother and always boasted that she was her best friend, sharing countless hours of phone calls each week. She loved animals and would open her home to cats in need where she would nurture and include them as part of her family. She was always there to lend a hand to others in need, and this always made her happy in return.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I met Cathie at Salisbury School in grade 6. We became great friends and shared many adventures. I loved to go to her house especially when she would tell me her mom is making perogies. I have so many memories!! There was a time where Cathie was making these beautiful earrings and floral wreathes. She was very talented with so many types of home made crafts. I also remember her beautiful handwriting lol. I still have her perogy recipe she wrote for me. We always remained friends but we drifted away after some time. I am so so sorry to hear about her loss. My heart and condolences to all her family. Your always friend Lori Fillion - Posted by: Lori Fillion (Friend) on: Jul 01, 2021

  • To Cathie's family. Our condoences to you all. We have not met Cathie, but we did get to meet her wonderful mother & dad, many years ago. Terry Klowak has been so kind to let us know of her passing. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time. My grandmother (Alexandra Wyporowich ) & Cathie's grandmother (Mary Wyporowich) were sisters.
