DELANEY DALE MACAIG
(GIESBRECHT)
July 31, 1979 June 26, 2021
Delaney will be sadly missed and remembered always by her loving and devoted husband Trevor; sister Melody Brown (Don); brother JB; mother-in-law Betty Macaig; sisters-in-law, Trisha Rempel (Charles), and Tracy Lagrove (Rob); nephew James; nieces, Emily, Bethany, Victoria, Abella, Autumn, Jennifer (Sheldon) and Kelsey; great-nephews Keenan and Kameron; her aunts and uncles, Sandra Shott (Gerry), Wayne Block, Jennifer Heiner (Shane), and Noella Strong (Art); cousins, Amanda (Tyler), Kellsie (Braden), Brit, Gage, Donny, Roy and Kellan; along with close long-time friends Cheryl, and Tara and many more friends and family.
Delaney was predeceased by her parents Marilyn and Robert Giesbrecht; grandparents Phyllis and August Block; aunts, Marlene Block, Maryjane Giesbrecht and Roberta Weisz and cousin Noella Heiner.
Delaney enjoyed her sports and spent years playing softball and soccer. In high school, she was a cheerleader for Maples Collegiate. Delaney was a huge fan of the Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers. Her favourite was timekeeping hockey; the biggest highlight being when she got to time keep a preseason game for the original Winnipeg Jets.
Delaney loved spending time with her family, friends and beloved pet cats; especially her nieces and nephews and Jiraiya. Numerous bingo outings, sports events, wing nights, coffee dates and movies. She enjoyed family get togethers for holidays and weekends spent at family cottages. A childhood trip to Disneyland was a fond memory that was reminisced about often. A lifetime dream was to vacation in Las Vegas, she was able to experience 3 trips there in the last few years.
Delaney and Melody shared an unbreakable sisterly bond.
In 2001, Delaney met Trevor, her soul mate, and they married in 2003. Her illness worsened shortly after getting married. There is no one else, that could have looked after Delaney as well as Trevor did. The eternal love they shared, is one that will only happen once in a lifetime.
During her many years of illness, she never questioned why and was always positive and looking ahead. She lived a harder life than some, but never complained.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bshouty and Dr. Robinson of HSC. Delaney spoke very highly of you both and knew she was receiving the best possible care.
Due to Covid restrictions, we will hold a family service at a later date.
Thank you to everyone for all your thoughts and prayers, and memories you've shared. They mean so much to us.
If so desired, donations can be made to the Lupus Society of Manitoba.
Delaney, our hearts are beyond broken that you've left us, we are already missing you so much.
