ANNA WEGRZYN
She is predeceased by her loving husband Stanislaw (2013), her parents, Bronislawa and Michael, brother John Owcarz, and infant son Kazimierz at birth. Left to cherish her memory are her son Richard (Krysia), children, Michael (Elaine and son Weldon), Andrew and Nikki; son John, children, Krysia (Fernando Consiglio), and Danusia (Calvin Bugyik); daughter Maria (Chris Lorenc), children, Marek (Terri-Ann), Gregory and Michael (Loren Poworski); sister-in-law Bronislawa Owcarz and family, and family in Poland including Maria Adamiak and mother Jozefa. She was a very proud and loving great-grandmother to Kristjan and Julia Consiglio, and Holden and Adalynn Bugyik.
Anna (Mama) was born in, Lozowka, Pow. Trembowla, Poland, December 6, 1930. She had a happy childhood, until disrupted by the start of the Second World War when life became difficult. Mama met our dad Stanislaw at a dance in 1948 and in February 1949 they were married. They lived in Chruscina, Poland where they farmed and raised their three children.
In 1965 our parents were sponsored to Canada by Mama's father Michael Owcarz, at first to Selkirk and then a move to Winnipeg in 1969 after having worked hard and saving money to buy their first home in Garden City.
Mama continued to work hard as a sewing machine operator for several companies, retiring in 1986 at Jacob Crawley.
Mama was an excellent gardener, cook, loved to pick mushrooms, spend time at the family cottage at Winnipeg Beach and loved to entertain. There was never a lack of friends at our family home or cottage.
Mama was a beautiful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was totally devoted to family, a loyal friend to others, person of faith, honest, and generous to a fault. These are only some of her lasting value legacies. A true role model.
Words are inadequate to quantify the impact of her pending absence from family occasions. On the other hand, if there was ever a life to truly celebrate, it is Mama's.
Anna was a member for over 25 years, with the CWL for Holy Ghost Parish, as well as a member of the Rosary Group.
A special thanks to a truly wonderful friend and neighbour, Jan Suposz, who continued to visit Mama after Dad's passing to watch Polish TV, and to Sean and Paula Fuller whom Mama referred to as 'her grandchildren across the street.' They each immeasurably helped look out for Mama.
May God rest her soul, keep her at his side and reward her life with heaven's tranquility.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church.
Wieczny odpoczynek rac jej dac Panie.
