LUCY JANE BENNETT
Lucy is lovingly remembered by her friends and family, her sons, Gerry, Robert, and daughter Louise, her grandchildren, Tammie and Dustin, and her great-grandson Mason. She was a kind and caring Mother, Grandmother and Friend.
Predeceased by her long-time companion Gerald McNutt in August of 1998, and by her son Russel on July 1, 2016.
Lucy was born and raised in Nova Scotia, where she finished her working career as a seamstress for Stanfields. Lucy enjoyed long summer drives in the rural areas around the city, and playing cards. She loved sewing, knitting, cooking, and baking. Pies were her specialty. She loved animals, and walking the dogs kept her going long after a broken hip tried to slow her down. She was a cancer survivor of over 30 years, Lucy was a fighter.
The family thanks the caregivers, nurses and staff at Fred Douglas Lodge, for the care and compassion shown during her time living at the home.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 4, at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. in Winnipeg with Rev. Alan Armstrong as celebrant.

She was a special woman. She was a sassy but always positive resident when I worked there. I always enjoyed seeing her and her "damn birds". My condolences to Jerry and the family. - Posted by: Kim (Recreation Worker at FDL) on: Aug 03, 2021
