My deepest sympathy to Maureen’s family. I met Maureen at the HSC curling league and when we no longer curled, my husband Jerry and I always enjoyed chatting with her in the elevator or hallways of HSC. She was a kind and caring individual and I’m glad that I knew her. - Posted by: Barb Weshnoweski (Friend) on: Aug 20, 2021

I am so sad to hear of Maureen’s passing. I worked at HSC with Maureen. Although not in the same area, I spent many lunch hours in the lunch room, chatting with her. She was a kind soul, liked by all who knew her. - Posted by: Patti Chalus (Former coworker ) on: Aug 16, 2021

Maureen and I met in November 2018 when I started cleaning for her. While we did not know each other for very long, she has truly touched my heart. I will never forget how kind and generous she was towards me and even my children.... and the many long conversations we had! I know she is up there watching over all of us and that brings me so much peace and happiness. Gone, but never forgotten. RIP my dear friend ❤ - Posted by: Rachael (Friend) on: Aug 16, 2021

My condolences to the Ayers family on Maureen's passing...she will be missed. I met Maureen when I was a student. Maureen was the very first pharmacy technician in the province and when I was under her wing she did more than show me the ropes...she showed me the craft. Maureen brought a sense of purpose to our career which is hard to find and we strive to preserve today. She was a caregiver, a teacher, and a dear friend. She will be missed. - Posted by: Ian Wren (Friend/Co-worker) on: Aug 16, 2021

Maureen and I grew up across the street from each other. We have been friends for over 60 years. She was always upbeat and ready for an adventure. She made time for family and friends and always made us welcome in her home. We may not have chatted often but you could count on a news filled Christmas card from her. She told stories that made you laugh and somehow the years and the miles we were apart just melted away. A strong willed and very sweet lady who will be remembered fondly and missed. - Posted by: Phyllis Gehle (friend) on: Aug 15, 2021

I was so sorry to hear of Maureen's passing and already miss having long chats, long distance, with such a good friend. Maureen and I were besties from the age of five, classmates at St. Ignatius from 1954-1962. For eight years, our daily after-school routine was to hang out at the corner of Harrow and Jessie sharing confidences. In our four years of high school at St. Mary's Academy we usually managed to meet up after classes and walk home together. I was honoured to have Maureen as my maid of honour in 1968. Maureen was good hearted and had a wonderful sense of humour. I offer my condolences to her family. Rosie, I am so glad you could be with Maureen in her final days. - Posted by: Mary Luce (Friend) on: Aug 15, 2021

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I was a neighbour of Maureen’s. I miss seeing her in the pool or in the garden area with Janet. She was so kind, donating games for my classroom. I will definitely miss her. - Posted by: Aimee Proulx (Neighbour) on: Aug 14, 2021

I'm sorry to hear of Maureen's passing. I met Maureen in 1981 through her work with the union. She had a strong personality and was always prepared to step up and speak her mind, even as her health began to decline some years ago. It's been some time since I last spoke with her, but I know she was looking forward to her retirement. - Posted by: Ken Swan (friend) on: Aug 14, 2021
