HELEN HAMBLETON

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear, kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Helen Hambleton who passed away on August 11, 2021.
Helen was born June 6, 1933 to Anthony and Anne Stonoga.
She is survived by her children, daughter Leslie; son Kelly (Sue); daughter Cory (Gordon); grandson Marc-Olivier; granddaughters, Alex and Aidan (Steve); sister Rose Fegus and sister-in-law Joan Buckley Dresna; and nieces and nephew, Kirk Miller (Janice), Janice Miller, Maureen Brunton and Karen Dresna-Cochrane. She was predeceased by her husband Bud Hambleton; brother Walter Dresna; sister in-law Violet Miller; and brothers-in-law, Don Hambleton, Gordie Miller and Lorne Fegus.
Helen was an amazing artist and until recent years, a member of the Grenfell Art Group for many years. In her earlier days, Helen was also known for her athletic skills, as a softball player and goalie in hockey. In 2005, Mom was inducted into the Manitoba Softball Hall of Fame as a member of the 1957-1962 CUAC Blues Senior Women Softball Team. She was a great fan of the Jets and Bombers too!

Gone is the face
we loved so dear
silent is the voice
we loved to hear

Too far away
for sight or speech
But not far
for thought to reach

Sweet to remember her
who once was here
And who, though absent,
is just as dear.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to he CancerCare Manitoba, or a charity of your choice.
At Helen's request, no service will be held.
