WILLIAM (BILL) ANTON KEHRER
He was predeceased by his parents, Anton and Katherine, and his daughter Linda. Left to cherish his memory are his sister Hilda; brother Tony; partner Shirley Gaudry; son Randy (Debra); daughter Tracey (Rick) Hunt; as well as grandchildren, Tyler, Braden, Jordan, Corinne, Ryan, Mathew and Brittany; and great-grandchildren Riley, Smith and Liv.
Bill was born on December 8, 1934 and grew up in the West End. He attended Daniel McIntyre High School where he became passionate about football. He was a member of the 1955 Winnipeg Rods Championship team which would later be inducted into the Manitoba Football Sports Hall of Fame.
Bill started with TCA, later Air Canada and enjoyed an almost 35 year career which allowed him to travel to many parts of the world. The cottage at Lester Beach was a mainstay during the summer and where some of the most cherished memories were created with his children, grandchildren and friends. He retired in 1991 and would then split his time between the cottage, wintering in Florida and later in Victoria, BC until his health would no longer allow him to. Despite his health setbacks the past few years, he always remained positive and upbeat.
The family would like to thank Dr. Niraula and his team at CancerCare as well as the staff in the Palliative Care unit at St. Boniface Hospital who gave him exceptional comfort and care during his short time there.
There will be a private family ceremony at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choice.

My deepest condolences to the Kehrer family. I lived next door on McCallman Avenue to Bill and was fortunate enough to be able to tag along to the family cottage on a few occasions. I always remembered those times and trips to the Lester Beach store and the kindness he always showed to myself and my parents (now both deceased, Isla & Earl White). So sad to read of Bill's passing. My late husband Jim & I were Customs Brokers in the Air Cargo Bldg. Arriving from the East, Bill was the first to assist us always with that magic Smile. We later connected at the lake, (our cabin was at Hillside). Any time we saw him was a delightful experience, his easy, happy, conversation was great. We always called him "Just Bill". My condolences to his Partner and his Family. May Bill rest peacefully. Carolan Hall (Late husband Jim) - Posted by: Carolan Hall (Late Jim HaLL) (Colleague/Air Canada Cargo Bldg.) on: Sep 25, 2021

Bill (Willie) and I were friends for 70 years, beginning in August 1951, when we were on the Daniel McIntyre Maroons Championship Football teams and then for 3 more years with the Winnipeg Rods Junior Team when in 1955 we won the Canadian Championship. You couldn’t find a buddy who was more friendly, upbeat or had a more dazzling smile than Willie. We had many adventures together, many of which involved Clear Lake gatherings. We always had a cabin available to us as our group had helped the Idylwylde cabin manager dispense with some rowdies. Later in our lives we enjoyed gathering for a meal and a visit. No matter what health issues plagued him, Bill always showed up and smiled throughout our visit and generally provided a major part of the fun for all of us. You can’t beat reminiscing with a group of dear “old” friends. Our heartfelt condolences to his loving partner Shirley, his son Randy, daughter Tracy, and their families and to the family of his daughter Lynda who predeceased him. I have many fond memories of Uncle Bill's smile, jokes and dance moves (the livelier of which he saved for us kids). His upbeat nature was contagious. My condolences to Tracey and Randy and their families. Cory Tucker - Posted by: Cory Tucker (Friend) on: Aug 30, 2021

My condolences to Randy and Tracy and their families. Bill was a "best friend", his dazzling smile was who he was. He was very funny and sometimes annoying but he just smiled through it all and it made everything okay. I think of him often, may he rest in peace.
