HELENA BUJWID
June 25, 1940 – June 19, 2021

It is with a heavy heart, I announce the unexpected passing of Helena on June 19, 2021.
Left to cherish her memory is her only child Lucy Byzio, and her three grandchildren, Joshua, Jarod and Sarah Givoli. She is survived by her sister Janina Sinkiewicz, and nephews, Janusz (Bozena) and Marek (Sandra) Kaminski and their children, and her extended family.
Helena was born in Vilnius, Lithuania and immigrated to Canada in 1968 to marry Edmund Byzio and begin her life in Canada. Helena was very loving and dedicated to her family and to her faith. Helena's greatest joy was gardening together with Edmund. Her love for the outdoors included the summers spent at Grand Beach and blueberry/ mushroom picking with family and friends. She looked forward to her daily walks throughout the year to The Forks. In the summers she enjoyed tourist excursions in Manitoba and travels throughout Asia with Lucy.
She instilled the key values of family, faith and the importance of education. She was an exceptional tailor. She sewed for family and friends. A fond memory growing up was the excitement on each birthday of discovering a special dress, tailored for the day. Then there were last minute requests by Lucy for special occasion dresses; Helena would sew through the night feverishly without complaint. The memories of the many trips abroad together are cherished.
Private internment has occurred, and a memorial service will be held during Mom's favourite time of the year, autumn.

pozostaniesz na zawsze w moim
sercu i pamieci

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Sincere condolences, also on behalf of my deceased Parents, Jan & Longina. As childhood memories, she was always so pretty. Smiling, telling jokes. And indeed the gardening I remember her generosity. She always made sure everyone had enough apples. It's very difficult when they pass, heart adjusts to a new normal we forever think about them though. Prayers. - Posted by: Eva Byzio (Niece (from Husband's side)) on: Sep 23, 2021
