TERESA REAY

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Teresa on August 28, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Jason Reay; her son and pride and joy, Aiden; mother, Jane; sisters, Alana (Tim and Bryson) and Cara (Bill, Hannah, Emma, Sophia); parents-in-law Heather and Roger; brother-in-law Kevin (Christine); numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, and her loyal, loving dog Dudley. Teresa was predeceased by her loving father, Les Moir, in 2020.
Teresa was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and stage 3 colon cancer in March 2014, and faced her diagnosis with strength, positivity, humour, and dignity. Teresa was born and raised in Winnipeg and had a wonderful childhood full of happy memories. She married Jason Reay in 2001 and they welcomed their only son, Aiden, in 2004. Aiden completed their family and Teresa cherished being his mother. Wonderful memories were made with family trips to Texas, Wisconsin, Mexico and Florida. Teresa's favourite times were spent at the cabin with family. Teresa worked in various departments within the federal government from 2000 to 2019 and made many lifelong friends. She medically retired in 2019.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all who have supported Teresa, especially Teresa's long-time friend, Melody, and also Linda for their friendship and support. Special thank you also to Aunt Shirley for the weekly get well cards Teresa received over these past four years after she received her second diagnosis.
The family would also like to thank Dr. Ruth Peters, Dr. Panina Krongold, Dr. Trevor Lee, Dr. Liu and all of the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Boniface Cancer Care for their care of Teresa over the years, and Riverview Health Centre 3 East Palliative Care Unit for their excellent care and keeping her comfortable.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

  • So sorry to hear of Teresa's passing and my condolences and prayers go out to her family. I was very good friends with Teresa and Cara as a child and we grew up together all through high school, but sadly lost touch after that. Teresa along with her whole family were among the kindest most lovely people I've ever had the privilege to know. If it weren't for Teresa and Cara, I don't think I would have ever had a healthy lunch and perhaps they would not have had so much junk food. So saddened to hear of her passing...too young. - Posted by: Vanessa Hodgson (Bell) (Childhood Friend) on: Sep 07, 2021
