Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • Being a friend of Debbie's at the time, I first met Mr and Mrs Larkin at their home in St James. A lovely, hospitable couple, who always welcomed company with open arms. I am very saddened to hear of the passing of Mr Larkin, who was such a beautiful person ....a quality he shared with his wife. May they both rest in peace with the angels. They will meet their family and friends in Heaven one day. Sincere condolences to all who loved them. Nadine Erickson. - Posted by: Nadine Erickson (Acquaintance) on: Mar 19, 2022

  • It was sad to hear of the passing of Barry, a longtime friend and Oldtimers hockey teammate. We were hockey teammates for many years. Barry and Iris were our nearby neighbors at the cottage at Spruce Sands for years. Barry was a fun guy to be around and we enjoyed his company. We would like to pass on our sincere condolences to the family. Tom & Sonja Mullan, Nanaimo, BC - Posted by: Tom & Sonja Mullan (Friends) on: Oct 19, 2021

  • I never met Barry and missed doing so by less than a week. My brother Mark and Barry were roommates at Oakview Place. They endured the challenges that Covid presented to humanity that confined two gentlemen to a small room for months on end in the sunset of their lives. Mark enjoyed his company and admired the life Barry had lived. He is missed by his friend. May Barry rest peacefully. - Posted by: Bob Milner (Brother of a friend) on: Oct 11, 2021

  • Barry was a good friend of my father whom I had the pleasure to meet in the middle of the Whiteshell bush moose hunting. Super nice man with many hunting stories. Rest in peace Barry. - Posted by: Calvin Schilke (Colleague/friend) on: Oct 04, 2021

  • So very sorry for your loss, I will always remember growing up and hanging around the arena's on Sunday mornings, watching our dads play hockey and then all the good times at Spruce Sands in the summer, your dad was one of the funniest people I knew, he could tell a joke and a half hour later could tell the same joke and still crack everyone up. Take comfort in the memories of the good times and the knowledge that your parents are together again. • I remember Barrie and Iris what a fun couple. They are now reunited and I'm sure heaven is now a crazy fun place to be. I'm sure the next time we hear a thunder storm it will probably be everyone in heaven roaring with laughter or it will be just Iris laughing. Wish we could have kept them here for ever I miss the fun we had. R.I.P Barrie you're now resting with Iris - Posted by: Roslyn Saurette (Work friend of Iris) on: Oct 03, 2021
