ANTHONY JACK GATWARD
June 5, 1935 - October 3, 2021
Anthony was predeceased by his loving wife Sylvia Joan Gatward. He shall be deeply missed by his daughter Tina (Joff); sons, Mark and Paul; and by his granddaughter Hayley. Also left to remember him are his stepson Michael; sister Gillian (Stash); sisters-in-law, Jackie (Vic) and Sue; and many other family members in England.
Anthony (Tony) immigrated to Canada in 1977 from England with his family. He was employed by Phillips Medical Systems (45 years) as an X-Ray Engineer, servicing and installing x-ray equipment in hospitals and clinics. He will be dearly missed by his friend and colleague Ted Trenchard, with whom he worked in both England and Canada.
Anthony's passions were cars, motorcycles, gardening and writing. He could scribe a poem quite quickly and with humour. He was a jack-of-all-trades, renovating and improving each and every family home he purchased.
The family wishes to thank the many staff of the second Floor at Oakview Place who cared for Dad right up until the end.
Cremation has taken place, but due to Covid and restrictions, his family will celebrate his life in the spring of 2022.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB.
