Met Darren way back in 1987, working at Guertin Bros coatings, I was a naive punk that was determined to “hot-rod” my 1980 Firebird after blowing the V6 engine, Darren put in a 350 orange block (those who know-know). And I got the bug, learned alot from Darren, was just good at mechanical-everything, I remember talking to him at work the day he was informed him mother passed, I can still see his face & hear his voice! Driving past the auto wreckers just now on Springfield rd. Made me think of him (you know) stuck at a train, thought “let’s look Darren up l! Darren was an unbelievable man, brother and friend. His caring and hilarious energy was always upbeat and kept the room live. Darren always looked out for others including myself; my brother and my late father. I was shocked and very saddened to hear about his passing, but I know he made an impact on so many people and that just puts a smile to my face. Rest easy Darren. I’m sure you and my father are having a good cuppa coffee right now and sharing all the memories. To Darren’s family and loved ones. My condolences.
