JAMES BRIAN COOPER
February 1952 November 2021
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Mary Cooper; long-time companion Bonnie Howe; brother Gary (Marion); and sister Shirley (Bob). He leaves to mourn his sisters, Joan and Marilyn; his good friend Leona McNeill; many nieces, nephews, friends, and of course his best buddy "Gunner".
In his younger years, Jim enjoyed camping and fishing at Otter Falls and then in Sandy Hook, MB. Jim had a great passion for cars, he still owned the green Satellite he bought brand new in 1973, and he loved driving his '59 Plymouth around town. Jim also had a great love of miniature cars, trains, toys of all kinds actually, and was quite the collector, he spent a lot of time at the flea market, selling and buying his collectibles. Jim's love of cars led to his job as Transport Manager for ADESA Auctions Winnipeg, a position he held for many years. Jim loved music, he could tell you who the artist was, the year it came out, etc. within hearing the song for only seconds, the Rolling Stones were a favourite of his.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held at a later date.

I worked with Jim for many years at the auction. Jim had an amazing knowledge of Winnipeg streets and business locations. He took pride not only in his only personal vehicles but those he drove at work. He “babied” 2 Ford Econolines over a million Km’s. It was often hard to tell that the second one was the oldest of the fleet. I don’t remember him missing a day of work or coming across a dead vehicle he couldn’t get started. Even in -40 weather don’t think he ever wore a toque. I learned a lot working alongside Jim. My sincere condolences. - Posted by: Jaret Thiessen (Coworker at Winnipeg Auto Auction/CAAG/ADESA ) on: Nov 17, 2021

Jim used to be my favourite customer at my previous job. He became a regular after I was able to assist him with some complicated insurance matters and from there on I was always the one to assist him. He was always so friendly and I enjoyed getting to know him over the years. He was always interested in hearing about my life and especially about my dog. He even brought me a cute dog collectible before I left that I will cherish. He will be greatly missed by many. - Posted by: Vanessa Vokey (Friend ) on: Nov 15, 2021
