I met Cassie when she transferred into my English class at Kelvin High School. She said she had come from Hawaii when she introduced herself. I said her last name was familiar to me from my teaching days at Stedman School in Fairford, MB. As we talked we discovered I had taught her dad Dean. I brought in the yearbook with Dean's picture in grade 8 and some pics of him playing basketball. She was so very pleased about this coincidence and she asked me many questions about him. The universe is a mysterious place when such distant lives can intersect. She didn't stay long but I remember her as an articulate, thoughtful and imaginative writer. I am sorry her story ended this way. Peace to you. - Posted by: Bryen Lebar (Former Teacher) on: Nov 29, 2021
