ALVARINA ZELIA CARLOS DA ROSA
(nee FRANCISCO)
September 4, 1936 - November 20, 2021

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we announce that Alvarina has passed away peacefully at the age of 85.
Left to mourn are her daughters, Ana (Joe), Gorrett, grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, and Sofia. She is survived by her sister Maria Estella, sister-in-law Maria Fatima, and many nieces and nephews. Alvarina was predeceased by husband Nascimento, brother Manuel, parents, Antonio and Alvarina.
She was born in Pico, Acores and married her soulmate Nascimento in 1960. In 1969 they immigrated to Canada where they settled to start a new life in Winnipeg.
Alvarina was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was truly amazing helping her family raise these three beautiful grandchildren. They were the light of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, knitting and crocheting.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 26 at 1:00 p.m. in Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin St. N. with interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery. Due to Covid restrictions, only immediate family may attend.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Nicolau, Fernando Francisco, Helder Serpa, Joe Nicolau, Tyler Francisco and Austin Francisco.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Actionmarguerite St. Joseph's Residence Personal Care Home. (actionmarguerite.ca)
