JOHN VAN DONGEN
April 9, 1939 – December 1, 2021
John was born in the Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in 1952 with his family.
He is survived by his wife Eva, of 59 years; son Robb; daughter Melenie (Dwain); and his lovely granddaughters, Olivia and Hailey.
If you didn't find John 'tinkering' in his garage or tending his garden, trees, flowers, he was probably travelling with Eva or 'fixing' something. He held a very special relationship with his granddaughters, always looking to find ways to make them smile and laugh. We will forever hear him calling out loud , 'EVA!' and remember the many stories he would share.
In accordance with his wishes no formal service will be held. A celebration of his life will be on December 11, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Riverstone Terrace, 1936 St. Mary's Rd.
John's family extends their sincere gratitude to the St. Norbert Personal Care Home for their compassionate and endless care.

My sympathies goes out to Eva, their family, and friends. I always enjoyed conversations with Mr. Van Dongen. My best memory of him was how much he loved his wife.
