JUDITH ARLENE CAROL DYCK
Judy was born in Winnipeg in 1941. She and her dear husband Ernie met in Metz, France in September 1960 and married there shortly after that in June 1961. Together they raised five children and moved to various places as they were an Air Force family.
Judy was a stay-at-home mom who cooked large family meals from scratch, skilfully sewed the children's clothing and entertained with confidence. Once all the children were in school, Judy was happy to begin her long career with Sears in the sewing and vacuum departments. Judy kept lifelong friends with those early colleagues at work and enjoyed a very active social life together.
Judy and Ernie purchased property at Grindstone Provincial Park and began building their beloved family cottage in 1977. As the years passed, Judy welcomed her growing family of grandchildren, and close family and friends with warmth and joy. Her extended family were deeply loved, as well. The cottage held a special place in Judy's heart and she often said it was her happiest times - at the cottage on Lake Winnipeg where lifelong friends were made.
Judith is survived by her husband Ernie, children, Donna (Rick), Terry (Catherine), David (Frances), Trevor (Debrah) and Natalie. Left to miss their cherished and generous Nana are Judy's grandchildren, TJ (Heidi), Madison, Zachary, Jacqueline, David, Emory, Brandon and Keenan and great-grandchildren, Finn and Elliot. Tucking them in as children, she would say "I will see you at toast time, dear child."
Judy was predeceased by siblings, Roger, Ron, George Bayne, Lorraine Jack (nee Bayne) and is survived by her sister Beverly Bloomer (nee Bayne).
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 15 at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 472 Kirkfield Street at McBey Avenue, according to COVID-19 protocols and restrictions. Due to limits in capacity, attendees are asked to RSVP with the family at 1-780-257-0572 or fandy1@me.com by Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.
Should you wish to donate in Judy's honour, consider Golden West Centennial Lodge at 811 School Road, Winnipeg, to allow them to continue their exemplary care of seniors.

Both Colleen and I were saddened to hear of Judy's passing. We were next door neighbours on Poplar Place in Grindstone for 16 years before we sold our cottage. We enjoyed many days and evenings with Judy and Ernie playing cards and sharing a meal together during the long summers. Our thoughts are with Ernie and his family. Loving mothers and grandmothers are great blessings to everyone they meet. They plant seeds in our souls we need to water, and trim so that we pass on the gifts they gave us. Particularly to help the many that didn't get such a blessing from God. I am sorry for your loss and hope that the comfort of great memories replace the grief as you deal with it. Ernie, your son Terry told me many times how devoted you were. God bless you for your example of selfless dedication to our spouses. - Posted by: David E Fyhrie (Friend) on: Dec 17, 2021

I’m sad to hear of Judy’s passing. We worked at Sears together, attended many Sears Christmas parties over the years and had lots of laughs together. All my love to Ernie and the family. 💕 Sandy - Posted by: Sandy Atkinson (Friend) on: Dec 15, 2021

Dear Bev: We were sorry to read of the passing of Judy. What fun we had going to dances at Grey Street United Church, and a also at East Elmwood Community Club. Life was so simple in those days. I remember fondly of trying to find a grad dress so Richard would have a friend to go with. We had more neighbors looking for a gown the day before grad, and finally found one. When Judy and Ernie lived in France, my Mom sent Judy the material to make the roses for the back cumberband of our bridesmaid dresses. When I went to buy my sewing machine at Sears Judy was the one who I went too. She sat me down at the machine and said try before you buy. lol Although I have a newer Kenmore state of the art machine now, my granddaughter is still using the first one. We always said they should come with odometers to check the mileage. Rob and I have fond memories that we will always cherish. Although we did not see much of one another, we always had some memories to share when we did. I am sorry that we will not be able to attend the service, but our thoughts and prayers are with you all. With our sincere sympathy to all the family, Judy is now safe in the arms of Jesus.
