Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I am Sad to read this a year later... Our Condolences to Bob's family. He sent us a Christmas card with his painting every year, until 2021 and 2022, and I wondered why.. The Burtons were neighbours of ours when they lived in Binscarth.. Bob married us in 1969.. Sending our late Condolences to you all.. - Posted by: Sandra Cadieux (friend) on: Jan 18, 2023

  • I send my condolences to Wilma Seafoot, Bob's family and close friends. I met Bob when I worked at the AGSM in Brandon. He visited the gallery frequently and we had several occasions to discuss the work on display, his work, and art in general. He had such an enquiring mind! Bob was always wanting to dig deep and get to the essence of what an artist was aiming to do in their work. I really enjoyed reading more about Bob's life on the Ethical Death Care website link. What an interesting, thoughtful and multi-talented man he was. May all of you who knew him well and were close to him find comfort in the midst of your grief. I expect he is engaged in art at another level right now, and receiving answers to the many questions he always had. May God bless you all. - Posted by: Michael (Colleague) on: Jan 01, 2022

  • As a teenager growing up in Binscarth in the 60s, I remember Rev. Burton as being very much in tune with the "new age", and not pushing old school religious doctrine. His sermons were very interesting and thought provoking. He was a good friend of my father, and he not only officiated my father's funeral in 1978, he delivered a wonderful eulogy as well. Bob presented me with a copy of that eulogy (in fabulous calligraphy), and I still have and cherish that document today. I last saw Bob a few years ago (officiating a small memorial service for Graham Crerar in Winnipeg), and we had a great visit talking about the good old days in Binscarth. My condolences to the Burton family. - Posted by: rob rannie (old friend from Binscarth) on: Jan 01, 2022
