KELSEY JADE MACLEAN
January 17, 1981 - December 24, 2021

We are heartbroken to announce that in the early morning hours of December 24, 2021, Kelsey lost her hard-fought battle with diabetes and kidney disease. Despite many health challenges, she lived every day with positivity and determination.
Kelsey had a crazy sense of humour and an adventurous spirit. She was always organizing get-togethers for her family and friends. Kelsey loved kids and they were naturally drawn to her, probably because she was a kid at heart. She volunteered for Squirts and Brownies and loved making special treats and crafts for them. She adored her puppies Sammy and Motley and spent most afternoons with them. Grand Beach was her favourite place and many summers were spent at the family cabin with cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. She had a keen interest in ancestry and researched extensively. She traced back to 1700 and connected with relatives from all over Canada, Europe and Australia. She kept in touch with them regularly.
Left to cherish her memory are her parents Ollie and Jim MacLean - she had a very special bond with her dad from baseball to learning how to do dialysis so she could do it at home, they were always together; sister Kristin; niece Bronwyn - who she helped raise - and her loving partner of 18 years B.J; many close cousins - Rhys who she talked to daily; along with numerous aunts, uncles, close friends and their children that she loved as her own.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

  • Kelsey was a great great person and very beautiful soul, I'm very glad to have known her! ❤️ I literally just found this out via Google and wasn't aware because I cut social media out of my life for a better part of the fall and winter. But I am deeply sadden today. I was thinking of you Kelsey for the past few days and was hoping to catch up because it's been a while. But my deepest sympathies to the family and my heart goes out to everyone ❤️🙏🌹 and may Kelsey be in Gods arms now. Rest easy my friend! - Posted by: Donavin (Friend ) on: Apr 09, 2022

Such a kind, cool, positive, compassionate and genuinely awesome person. We first became friends about 20 years ago through the local music community and shared a love of gardening. I'm thankful to have known Kelsey and will miss her more than words can say. <3 - Posted by: Rodney Smith (Friend) on: Jan 17, 2022

  • Jim and Ollie, we are so sorry for your loss. Kelsey was a very positive person who was so eager to save the environment. In the spring and summer she was so full of life when we talked about the bee houses and the Monarch Butterflies. If there is anything we can do for you please do not hesitate to ask. • My best childhood memories were playing baseball with Kelsey at Morse Place. I remember how amazing her dad Jim was who coached us at the time. They most certainly had a special bond and Kelsey could sure smack that ball!! She was always laughing and smiling. She had such a great energy and spirit. I'm so deeply saddened to hear this news and sending love and light to Ollie, Jim and Kristen. She was truly a beautiful soul. - Posted by: Kristin Kolybabi (Childhood friend) on: Jan 08, 2022
