L. BRUCE HOLLAND

It is with immense sorrow that we announce the passing of an amazing, wonderful man L. Bruce Holland at Riverview Palliative Care on December 16, 2021, at age 77.
At age 49, while on a business trip to Toronto for George N Jackson he met his "angel" Carol and fell deeply in mutual love. They married and he embraced her three children: Tim, Jennifer, and Heather. Bruce also had two children: David and Sarah from his first marriage to Caroline, creating a loving, happy blended family.
Also left to mourn his passing are his nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, pseudo-family members and several long-time friends including some since birth.
He loved spending time at Lland-Ho Harbour on Loche Bay marveling at the eagles, loons and peaceful surroundings.
A private memorial service will be held at St. Andrews River Heights United Church, where Bruce celebrated his faith and spent many years singing in the choir. Date to be advised.

  • I first met Bruce in 1964 when I started as a jnior accountant at Dominion Bridge in Winnipeg.. I was the junior of three individuals taking the RIA accounting program. Bruce was the senior of us three and provided much assistance to us during our daily activities. While Perry and I were OK accounting students Bruce was the accountant's accountant. He was a great guy to work with and for. Bruce, my wife Linda and Bruce's first wife Carol enjoyed many pleasant times together at company Xmas parties, RIA conferences and picnics. As we all completed our accounting courses we separated and grew apart. It probably has been fifty years since I saw or spoke to Bruce but the memories of our times together remain. Our condolences go out to all the family. Gerry and Linda Homenick (Calgary) - Posted by: Gerry Homenick (Old Time Friend and Co-Worker) on: Jan 10, 2022

  • Dear Carol, Sarah, David, and Family, My other "godbrother", Keith Love alerted me to Bruce's obituary. It is with such great sadness that I received this news. Bruce, Roz, Auntie Nancy and Uncle Len figured prominently in our lives and we in theirs. It was a happy and loving group and it is with such regret that they have all passed on but they will live on in my heart forever. My husband, Richard came to know the family well and spent time in their company. He and I join together in wishing our most sincere condolences to you all. Love, Shelagh P.S. Carol, two of our grandchildren are sleeping over at our place tonight and are being kept warm by the two blankets A. Nancy knit for our two children. - Posted by: Shelagh Cohen (nee Whitehead) (Bruce was my parents' God son and I was Bruce's parents' God daughter. Our families were more than ) on: Jan 08, 2022
