MARIE MOTOSKA
January 25, 1924 - January 18, 2022

Peacefully, at the Health Sciences Centre, Marie Motoska "Nanny", aged 97, passed away on January 18, 2022.
Marie was born in Pohrela, Czechoslovakia. Marie was a thoughtful, caring, hard-working lady, who loved cooking, gardening, cutting grass and shovelling snow – that made her day! She treasured time with family, especially her grandsons; they were her pride and joy.
Marie will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her sisters, Anna (Bernie) and Angela of Vancouver, B.C.; son Michael (Rhonda) and daughter Linda; grandchildren, Brian and Kevin (Lisa); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband John of 70 years of marriage; her parents, Anna and John Bialik; and brothers, George and John.
Special thanks to the dedicated staff at River Ridge II Retirement Residence for their compassionate care of our mother.
A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. Dominic Yuen the celebrant. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or a charity of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Auntie Marie and Uncle John were family friends that we saw quite often as we were growing up. We loved her famous Honey cake with all the layers that was her signature dessert. Another special thing she did was baking of gingerbread cookies for my children. It was wonderful that she remembered them. Unfortunately we lost touch over time. Our sympathy and prayers go to her family. - Posted by: Pauline Bauer, daughter of Thomas and Mary Pollak (Family friend) on: Apr 26, 2022
