STANLEY PETER NICKARZ
July 30, 1942 – January 24, 2022

With great sadness, Stanley's family announces his peaceful passing at St. Boniface Hospital on January 24, 2022.
Parents, Stanley Bert Nickarz and Lillian Marie Nickarz (nee Ezinicki).
Stanley was born and raised in East Kildonan. He graduated from Miles Macdonell Collegiate and later the University of Winnipeg, obtaining a bachelor's degree in education. Stanley was an educator for over 38 years and touched the lives of many students starting at Pine Falls School, taking a pit-stop at Gordon Bell High School, and finishing at Sargent Park School. During his youth, he was a prolific athlete and a great hockey player. However, his talents were not only confined to sport but included music with impressive skill as a trumpeter, even paying his way through college while in a band. Additionally, Stanley was a fantastic public speaker and known for his great speeches and sense of humour. Last but not least, he was a very active mentor for over 30 years and helped countless men and their families learn to live one day at a time.
We would like to thank the hardworking physicians, nurses, and other staff at St. Boniface Hospital and urge anyone not yet vaccinated for COVID-19 to please do so.
In light of the current international pandemic, there will be no large funeral services but an intimate gathering at his former residence.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in his honour to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba will be deeply appreciated.
