JEANNE KELLAS
(Dorothea Jeanne Gorrell Turley Kellas)
November 3, 1929 - January 25, 2022
Jeanne Kellas was born November 3, 1929 on the family farm outside of Pilot Mound, MB and passed away peacefully on January 25, 2022 at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, MB.
She is survived by daughters, Susan Turley and Audrey Turley, beloved granddaughter, Michele Shuster, brother Glenn (Madge) Gorrell, and nieces and nephews, Lynn, Miles, Blaine, Leigh and their families, stepchildren, Jo-Anne (Bob) Ellis, Randy (Debbie) Kellas, Francie Wheadon and their families. She was preceded by husbands, Frank Kellas and Edwin Hildebrand, and her parents, Clifford and Annie (McGregor) Gorrell.
Jeanne was an Executive Assistant, finishing her career with Investors Syndicate Limited. She was a proud, long-time member of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society. She was a dedicated individual who loved to volunteer, relishing the events and particularly the people she met along the way. Her volunteer activities lead her to be involved with the Manitoba Provincial Dance Festival, Rainbow Stage, Investors Retirement Club (the first Chair of the Board), Folklorama, Red Cross, Children's Hospital Book Sale, Grace Hospital, the Pan Am Games (the Panamaniacs), Special Olympics, among others. She was an avid golfer and the staff at the Crescent Golf Course dubbed her "the Queen of the Crescent".
The family extends heartfelt appreciation to "The Girls" (Joyce Cormack, Marilyn Piniuta, Maureen Burnham, Agnes Brydon, Valerie Wilson, Jean Miller). Your friendship meant the world to her and Joyce your daily telephone calls always brightened her day especially during the pandemic.
The family wishes to extend a very sincere thank you to the staff of Grace Hospital and Riverview Health Centre for their tremendous care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date.

Jean was a special part of our families life. She was dad’s executive assistant for many years at Investor’s. It was always a delight when visiting the office to be greeted by Jean. - Posted by: Barb Leslie (Andy Jacksons daughter) on: Feb 05, 2022
