JOYCE CORRINE KRUK
(WILKINSON)

1930 - 2022

Joyce Corrine Kruk passed away peacefully at her residence in West Park Manor on January 25, 2022.
Born on May 31, 1930, Joyce spent her years in and around Winnipeg except for a year at school in Tennessee. In her early years, she worked at the Eaton's store in downtown Winnipeg. She then met her husband Joe and they were married in 1957. After several years at home, raising her then young children, Joyce started working at West park manor Personal Care Home. She would continue her employment there, in various departments, until her retirement at the age of 65. Even after that, she would pick up the occasional casual shift.
Joyce enjoyed reading, creating poetry, photography and going for walks. She became interested in Scottish Country Dancing when in her 50s. She was very involved in her church and took enjoyment visiting with numerous lifelong friends. Most importantly though, Joyce loved spending time with her family. Every moment she could spend with her husband, children and grandchildren was treasured. In later years, although her memories were dimmed with the onset of Alzheimer's, she continued to talk about her family and how much she loved them until the end.
Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Nelson and Evelyn; her husband of 61 years, Joseph; and her brother, Donald.
Joyce is survived by her children, Shannon (Russ) Anderson, Cameron (Denise) Kruk and Dana (Donovan) Dvorak; her grandchildren, Andrew (Erica), Jonathon, Nathaniel, Kayleigh and Ella, as well as extended family, her sister-in-law Eileen, and her nephews and nieces, Greg, Leslee, Dean and Tracy.
As per Joyce's wishes, a private celebration of her life will occur at a later date. The family wish to thank all the staff at West park manor for the gentle and kind care they provided to Joyce.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to West Park Manor Personal Care Home, both Joyce's employer for many years as well as her final place of residence, for the purpose of maintaining their outdoor garden.

  • Joyce and I worked together at West Park Manor and remained friends way past her retirement. Due to Covid restrictions I was unable to continue visiting her while she was at West Park Manor. I will always remember her kind and gentle spirit, and her smiles. I am saddened by the news of her passing but comforted to know she is at rest. My prayers are with Shannon, Cameron, Dana and their families during this time. (I am presently out of the country). Anna Jacques and family - Posted by: Anna Jacques (Friend) on: Feb 05, 2022

  • Aunt Joyce was my favourite aunt growing up, she was such a wonderful person. Aunt Joyce and Uncle Joe were my god parents and I have many memories growing up of Christmas our families shared, weddings, and how she was there for us when my mum passed away. She was my mums best friend going back to their teens. She was a very caring, loving person who loved her family and friends deeply. I will miss her always.
