FREDERICK J. MCKAY
September 28, 1948 - February 17, 2022

On Thursday, February 17, the night of the full snow moon, Fred left us for the spirit world while we eased him along his journey with comforting words of our great love for him, music he loved, stories he cherished and reassurance that we all (family and friends) loved him dearly. Goodbye for now, dear one. We return you to the arms of the angels with a piece of our hearts to live in spirit.
Kathy, Jamey, Gina and Megan would like to send a very heartfelt thanks and blessing to the wonderful, dedicated staff of MICU at Health Sciences Centre who go above and beyond every day. You are the silent earth angels and we love and appreciate all you do.
A celebration of Fred's life will take place towards the end of March, and details will be added to Fred's Memorial page. To view Fred's memorial page please visit: www.voyagefuneralhomes.com.
Fred loved walking the trails at Assiniboine Forest every day to visit the wildlife and take in the natural world. He met many conservationists along the way, and he would be honoured for any donations made to: Assiniboine Park Conservancy - Wildlife Conservation:

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Our very dear friend Fred McKay passed away yesterday February 17. It is with a profound sorrow that I write this note. Freddy (as I used to call him) was a man of a great heart, devoted father, husband and friend. He was love by everybody. He was our best man in our marriage, myself and my wife Maria loved him very much. My heart felt condolences to Kathy, his wife, his children and grandchildren. He was loved by them all. We will miss him terribly. So long my friend, we will meet again. Fernando and Maria. - Posted by: Fernando and Maria (Friends) on: Mar 28, 2022

  • Kathy and family, we are so saddened about Fred’s passing. He was certainly someone we loved to see at family gatherings or when we bumped into you both here and there in Winnipeg. He always greeted us with a smile and was a gentle, loving person who was interested in others❤️ May you all have peace and May his spirit be close. Rest In Peace, Fred❤️ Dea Code and daughters - Posted by: Dea code (Relative ) on: Feb 26, 2022
