MITCHELL MOSIENKO

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, dad and papa, Mitchell Mosienko on Wednesday, February 23, 2022.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Anne; his children, Donna (Michael) Rossol, Wayne (Starlene) Mosienko and Brenda Mosienko; grandchildren, Sarah Rossol, Adam (Christine) Rossol, Lucas and Dessya Mosienko and Maximus and Pierce Mosienko and great-granddaughter Emma Rossol.
Mitch was born in Winnipeg on November 14, 1935. Mitch grew up in the north end and was the youngest of three siblings. He later met the love of his life and built a life of happiness. Mitch retired from CP Rail and enjoyed spending time at the cottage in Sandy Hook. Mitch's greatest joy and accomplishments were his family.
After retirement, Mitch and Ann enjoyed escaping the cold winters. Arizona, Florida, Victoria and Hawaii were among his favourites. It brings us great comfort to know that he is now in paradise and in the hands of the Lord.
A memorial service for double vaccinated family and friends will take place on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, 315 Munroe Ave. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 1379 Kenaston Blvd. Winnipeg, MB R3P 2T5 or CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave. Winnipeg , MB R3E 0V9.

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Mitch Mosienko was the car shop foreman at CP Rail Weston Shops Winnipeg. I never forgot him or his name because he is the one who gave the go ahead to hire me on November 5th, 1979 as a carmen apprentice at the young age of 22. It was very hard to get in the railroad. So I appreciated his blessing to hire me. Thank you, Mitch for giving me the opportunity. - Posted by: Darcy Smela (CP Rail ex emplyee) on: Jul 29, 2022
