HAROLD PURPUR
August 10, 1926 - February 27, 2022
After a wonderful 95 years, Harold peacefully passed away on February 27, 2022.
He was predeceased by his wife Lorraine of 49 years and is survived by his children; Ken (Linda), Gary and Valerie, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Harold was very passionate about his career as a firefighter. He spent 35 years serving the citizens of Winnipeg where he retired as a district chief in April 1988.
An avid curler, Harold represented the firefighters at the provincial Championships. Him and Lorraine were curling enthusiasts who travelled across Canada for the Briers and World Championships. Most of all they enjoyed the Canadian Firefighters Curling Championships, where they met up with old and new friends.
In his retirement years he enjoyed travelling, meeting his friends for a beer, golfing with his son Ken and in recent years spending time with his great-grandchildren, Ella, Max, Jack, Ruby, and Milo.
Ken and Linda would like to thank the nurses and staff at Park Manor Personal Care Home for their care and compassion for dad.
A private service has taken place.

Harold was my Captain at old Station 7. I remember he came into work one night after getting new hat from Stores. When he took it off, there were red marks on both sides of his head at the temples. Somebody said, "What are those marks on your head, Cap?" Ivan Matson, never looked up from his paper as he said. "Them's corners." breaking up the room. Journey well, Cap, job was well done.
