KATHLEEN (KAY) ISABELLA
REYNOLDS
(nee MCBAIN)

1919-2022

Mom passed away peacefully at West Park Manor on Friday, March 4, 2022, at the age of 102, with her daughters by her side.
She is survived by her daughters, Elaine (Claude) Lambkin and Pat (Harold) Rikheim; grandchildren, Jeff Lambkin, Kelly (Steve) Moon, Cathy (Scott) Spak, Lori (Dan) Dupre; and great-grandchildren, Cole Lambkin, Alyssa, Dylan and Katie Moon, Sydney and Noah Spak, Halle, Eric and Syler Dupre. She was so proud of her daughters, and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Kay was predeceased by her husband Les in 1996, father and mother, Jim and Lillian McBain; her brother Bill McBain and sister Dorothy Jackson.
In her younger years Kay ran hurdles in high school and played baseball for Eaton's (the Imps). She also worked at Eaton's for many years.
Mom met our dad, Leslie Reynolds and they married on July 19, 1941 in Winnipeg. Their daughter Elaine was born in 1944, followed by daughter Pat in 1947. After living on Polson Avenue for a number of years, they moved to Charleswood in 1956 residing on Marlton Crescent for over 50 years.
Mom loved to knit and crochet and made many hats, mitts, sweaters and several beautiful afghans, which we treasure to this day. She was also talented at doing cross-stitch pictures and enjoyed doing 'word search puzzles' well into her 90s.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Kay would be appreciated to the Staff Benefit Fund at West Park Manor Personal Care Home, 3199 Grant Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3R 1X2.
We wish to express our sincere appreciation to the staff at West Park Manor where Mom was treated with loving care and compassion for the past seven years.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no formal service and a private Celebration of Life will take place with the family.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I grew up next door to Mrs. Reynolds on Marlton Cres. I was always welcome at her house, she would let me play her organ, show me family photos and tell me all the stories of how wonderful her family was/is. She loved to show off her christmas decor in the basement and her new fuzzy pink bathroom set. She always had a cookie to share. I adored her! My sincerest condolences to her family. - Posted by: Sarah Goddard (Neighbour) on: Mar 13, 2022

  • We are sorry to hear about the passing of Mrs. Reynolds. She is remembered as a wonderful neighbour. Our Mother, Olly, was pleased to have her again as a neighbour at Assiniboine Links. - Posted by: Gaylene, Lorelee and Leslie (Rogers) (Neighbours from Marlton) on: Mar 13, 2022
