BARRY FRAILICK

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our husband, father, and grandpa. Barry passed away in Beausejour Hospital on March 8, 2022, at the age of 70 years.
Barry will be deeply missed by his loving wife Carol, his children Kimberley (Gary), Diana (James), and Daniel (Emma), grandson Boone, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents William (Bill) and Olga Frailick.
Barry was born and raised in Beausejour, Manitoba where his passion for horses began alongside his beloved father, Bill. Barry worked with the Winnipeg Police Service for 27 years, retiring as Detective Sergeant. He married his wife Carol in 1992, and together they raised three fine children, several special horses, and other furry animals in his beautiful home near Birds Hill Park.
Barry was a highly respected, hardworking, and family-oriented man. He was always driving something, motorcycles, semi-trucks, heavy machinery, and countless teams of horses. You name it, Dad drove it. There are many wild stories from his times travelling, breaking horses, and enjoying cocktails with numerous friends. He will be forever missed and held so closely to our hearts.
Our family would like to extend our deepest thanks to Dr. Daphne Schmidt and all the staff at Beausejour hospital for their compassionate care. We would like to further express our appreciation to friends and family for their ongoing support.
Barry's funeral will be held at Sobering's Funeral Chapel on March 18, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. In memory of Barry and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beausejour Hospital or a charity of your choice.

  • Carol and family, it was with a heavy heart that I heard of Barry’s passing from Norm. Barry and I grew up together and went to school from grade one through to grade twelve. We did loads of things together, including being pals, fighting, playing pool at Pete’s, driving around in Barry’s old Chevy and trying to buy beer off of older guys! LOL! There was always a gang of us that hung together, Barry, myself, Bob Kozak, Denis Robbie, John Kososki, Charles Wilgosh, Ricky Kaatz, Cliff Langner and Lawrence Ferchoff. Two or more of us were always together and sometimes Barry’s Chevy was packed full! In later years, I moved away but, Barry and I always kept in touch. Although there was a time when we were out of touch for a year or more, Barry was always around to lend a helping hand to my mom if I called on him to do so. We always gave “Nellie” a hard time when we were at her place and she didn’t hesitate to slap both of us with her wooden spoon. We just laughed more to get her more riled up!! In the past several years, Barry and I kept in touch more often and my wife Anne and I along with our wee dogs visited Barry and Carol often and were guests of their generosity. I spoke to Barry only a couple of weeks ago and as usual, we both cursed the government and Trudeau which was standard fare for both of us!! We were ALWAYS on the same page politically and as far as the state of the union, (so to speak) went. I will miss Barry and our periodic rants a great deal. Rest in peace my friend and perhaps we will meet again some day, “on the other side”!! - Posted by: Fred P Rumak (Friend) on: Mar 12, 2022
