MARIA VAN HOEK
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, Maria Paulina van Hoek on March 6, 2022, at the age of 94.
Mom was born in Rotterdam, Netherlands on July 24, 1927 to Adreanna and Maria Schoor, nee Tom.
Mom met Dad in Dordrecht and married in 1946. They had four children, Suzanna, from a previous marriage and Peter, Ben and John. The family immigrated to Canada in 1956.
Mom worked in retail and later in life, worked as a real estate agent, which she really enjoyed. Knitting, crocheting, arts and crafts were her passion, anything you wanted, she could make it, with joy.
Maria was predeceased by her husband Jan in 1994 and son Ben in 2011.
Cremation has taken place and an interment will take place at a later date.
