GOTTFRIED (FRED) FILZ
On March 13, 2022 after a lengthy illness Gottfried (Fred) Filz peacefully passed away at home with his family by his side.
Fred leaves behind his wife Caroline; daughters, Hanna (Kevin) Juenke, Katherine Filz; son Glenn (Sherry) Filz; grandchildren, Tyler (Ashley) Filz, Brittany Filz and Zack Filz; brother Erich; along with many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Otto and Rosina Filz; sister Ludmilla Gastle; brothers, Herbert Filz and Otto Filz.
Fred came to Canada from Hochruntfilze Bavaria, West Germany when he was 15 with his parents and siblings. He worked in shipping departments in different factories. Fred met his wife at Gillespie's Factory when they both worked there. Fred went on to working with family as a wholesaler and then onto running the shipping department in a factory with family. Where he worked the rest of his career.

Service will be held on Friday, March 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg.
