Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I met Ruth and Doug when I was dating their godson Kirby in Winnipeg Manitoba in 1987-1989. Kirby and I would often go over and visit them at their Charleswood home where we were often greeted my their dog Sadie. I remember our great conversations with both of them and Ruth's awesome homemade lasagne and Doug bbqed the meanest steak. I never knew a steak could taste that good! Great memories with two wonderful people. May they rest in peace. I am also sorry to hear that Isabel, Kevin and Kirby Martin have also passed. May they all RIP. Love and condolences to all of the families. - Posted by: Diana Loeppky nee Kowalik (Through their close friend Isabel Martin's son Kirby) on: Oct 31, 2022

  • Met Doug on several different times in our lives and always found him smiling and warm. Sorry he's gone, would like to have gotten to know him even better. - Posted by: Cyril Carroll (friend and cousin to wife Ruth) on: Aug 08, 2022

  • Doug was the first person I met when I moved to Seine River Haven and the day I met he fixed a cart of mine that had the wheel fall off. Doug and I had coffee together often. Doug joined my mom (who has dementia) and I for Easter dinner at my place. He was so kind and understanding of mom’s illness. We shared many meals together and so much coffee. Doug was a really great friend to me and I am thankful to have known such a kind genuine man. - Posted by: Linda Krawetz (friend ) on: Mar 30, 2022
