JULIKA BOBBI BARICZ
October 22, 1957 - March 29, 2022

With great sadness we announce that on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, our beloved Julika 'Bobbi' passed away peacefully, with her devoted husband of 30 years Geoff (Ives) by her side.
Bobbi is also survived by her son Kyle (Brianne); mother Julia; sisters, Eva (Julius) and Clara (John); nephews, Aiden and Kieran and numerous extended family, friends and students she's encountered over the years. Bobbi was predeceased by her father Antal.
Bobbi was a devoted mother and wife, who was passionate about literature, art and her flower garden. As an original member of the Hungarian Folk Ensemble, Bobbi embraced her Hungarian heritage through dance and art as an instructor and choreographer for the younger generations of Hungarian dancers that would emerge through the 1970s and 1980s.
This early passion for art and teaching inspired her to spend 25 years as middle / senior years English teacher within the Winnipeg School Division where she took immense pride in her students' accomplishments. Bobbi's classrooms were always bright and alive with student projects and art.
An artist by every definition. Bobbi took on many artistic endeavours, creating beautiful and functional pottery and glass pieces to sell, or more often gift, to friends and family. Photographing her flowers for her card line or creating jewelry for her online store, Bobbi filled her days with beauty and creativity in a way that will never be forgotten. Bobbi also shared a love for her rescue dogs over the years, Maxx, Magnum, Vega, Kardi and Stormie.
Bobbi's family sincerely thanks the doctors, nurses and staff of the 5E medicine ward at St. Boniface Hospital for all their hard work and care.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
In lieu of cards or flowers, Bobbi would wish you to donate to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation or an Animal Rescue of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (11 entries)

  • I met Julie in Junior High and we became fast friends. She had the loveliest smile and a great laugh and she was not stingy with either of them. We had so many good times together, and we managed to get into some trouble also! Julie was so very proud of her heritage and her dancing. She had such an artistic flair in everything she did. As often happens during that time of life, friendships can drift apart, as ours did, but I always held so many fond memories of our time spent together. My sincere condolences to Julie's mom, her sisters, Eva and Clara and her husband and son. May your memories comfort you during this difficult time. As long as she is remembered, she will not be gone. - Posted by: Debbie Adamchuk (Childhood Friend) on: Apr 09, 2022

  • Very sorry to hear of Bobbi's passing. We worked together at Argyle School in the 1990's. She was passionate about her teaching and making a difference in her students' lives. She had a great sense of humour and a wonderful smile, and her students loved her. When she moved on from Argyle, she was sorely missed.
