Earlier this month I felt compelled to contact Larry and after several attempts we finally connected, and so I picked him up and went and had a long coffee and some good laughs...and Larry loved to laugh. He had that spontaneous loud explosive laugh that everybody around us felt...and with the laughter usually came tears flowing down his cheeks. We talked about the crazy times we had when I lived in the west end with Roy Rindahl and Gary Creptyk, about that hilarious time he dressed up as a girl and pretended to be my girlfriend and we fooled his poor mother, about when he rolled a road grater excavating up in Gillam and damaged his leg. Many stories like those and then the caring side he had when he bought out of his pocket a trophy for me when my sporting event didn't have the money ; how he never ever asked for anything from me ,only friendship. He never turned me down if I needed favour and never brought it up again. He was a true friend. We also talked about when Betty and He decided to get married and in the fall of 1969 he came pounding on my door and told me needed me... to be his Best man....so off all 3 of us went to Law Courts to start the process...and then to the Polynesian room to celebrate..That fast and they were married . Betty and Larry had pig roasts at their house in the summer and everyone was welcome..no need to bring anything ,just show up and they put on a big spread and invited the neighbors too. He talked about his health and was concerned over different issues to do with that. We had a good talk as I hadn't seen him in a few years and was glad to have the opportunity again, and then we left the restaurant and I drove him home...and when he got out and walked away his head was down and sadly I wished we could have talked longer. Then two days later He left us. He was a good friend...in the more than 5 decades I knew Larry ,we never had a cross word or disagreement between us and I could count on him no matter what I needed. We shared a lot of laughter and fun times and I consider myself blessed to have had him as my friend. May the Good Lord walk with you to your new home. My condolences to Betty ,Larry jr, Joel and their families and to Larry's sisters and their families . Goodbye my friend Bill - Posted by: Bill Turner (Friend) on: Apr 29, 2022

Hi Betty, Sorry to hear about Larry. I have fond memories of the gang as teenagers, Roy, George, Bill, Wally and Hans. And also good memories at the pig roasts at your home. Charlie Brown - Posted by: Charlie Brown (Friend ) on: Apr 24, 2022
