Aunt Shirley, Bob, Ron, Sheryl-Lynn, Rick, I send my sincere condolences, I’m sorry to hear of Uncle Gus’s passing, although so very long ago a still remember visiting and fun we had. Mom spoke of Gus often and always kept me up to date on all of you. I hope you can all cherish the great memories that made him the man he was. He’ll be missed by all. I do hope we can all cross paths soon and reminisce the stories that can make us laugh. Take care. - Posted by: Bruce Lockyer (Nephew) on: May 26, 2022

I'm very sad that my last family member my brother Keith has passed away and I am now the only one from our family of 8 Hewson's left. I will miss our long phone calls etc. I'm finding very hard to accept that I have lost 3 sisters and my brother all in the last 11 months. I'm left with lots of good memories we were a very close family with wonderful parents that where always there for us with lots of love and we always kept in touch with each other over the years. I will keep in touch with all the younger ones and the in-laws. I send my love to you all. Love Audrey xxxxxxxoooooo😊😁😃 - Posted by: Audrey Lockyer (Sister) on: Apr 29, 2022

Going home has always been a great joy for me because it meant seeing my family - last week that joy suffered a major loss when my friend, my confident, my supporter, caregiver and champion, my Dad moved on to the next world. I take comfort he is with his family there since he can not be with his family here and they will take good care of him. Growing up my Dad and Mom worked many jobs to keep a roof over our head and food on the table and we had so much fun. We were never what most would say as wealthy, but we were rich in family times and friends and my dad always had time for us and did so much for us to have a great life and great opportunity. My Dad was a talented musician and played the piano by ear playing almost anything he wanted and he gave us the joy of music. He travelled the world and brought those insights and perspectives home and he was always kind and caring for others. He was an amazing story teller, a joker and often the life of the party and always had a glint of mischief in his eye. He took risks in life and never showed his fears although later in life he would tell me times he worried. I tested my Dad's mettle many times growing up maybe in some ways to much like him, but whenever I crashed and collapsed he was always there to pick me up and set me on the right path with unconditional love and encouragement and eventually I found my own way helping hundreds of marginalized people across 4 continents through my work and making my Dad so very proud. We really talked to each other and we could say all we needed when we needed to each other. My Dad told me how my Mom was the most beautiful person in the world and a perfect balance for him and he was so lucky to have her stay by his side for over 65 years. We are blessed Dad - some people never got to do all we got to do. Now and forever I will always think of you, now and forever you will always be with me and with us all. - Posted by: Rick Hewson (Son) on: Apr 27, 2022

Poppa Keith, Poppa Gus, Poppa Smarties, Pops. To say you were special is an understatement. You were the most positive, generous, fun loving, kind and hilarious guy. You told the best stories, had all the most amazing life experiences, you played beautiful piano by ear, you gave the best hugs, you had a giggle and laugh I’ll never forget, you told the best jokes - most of them not for kids, you had the most creative gift ideas that would usually come with a story or a poem, you loved all the sweets and treats - always having candies or smarties in your pockets, you golfed like a pro, you travelled the world, life was never dull or boring with you around, you were the life of the party, you were so proud of your family and loved us all so much. Couldn’t have asked for a better Poppa. You will be forever loved and missed. Thank you for endless amazing memories. Love Michy xoxo - your favourite granddaughter - Posted by: Michelle Gould (Granddaughter ) on: Apr 25, 2022

With heavy hearts we send our condolences and sympathies to Shirley and the entire Hewson family. Keith was such a great uncle. Every time our family got together with theirs, it was nothing but fun and laughs. Uncle Keith had such a great sense of humour, as did the rest of the family. Such fun times and great memories right from our early childhood years. He always made us laugh and we always looked forward to seeing him. He will be so sadly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Ps. Love the hat!! - Posted by: Russ Oberthier (Uncle ) on: Apr 25, 2022

Condolences to Shirley and family on behalf of our family. Sadly so many of the Hewson siblings gone in the last few years. I always enjoyed Gus and Shirley’s Regina visits over the years. Gus was interested in everyone and everything loaded with his stories and experiences to share. John Hewson - Posted by: John Hewson (Nephew) on: Apr 25, 2022
