ERNEST NEIL FRASER

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest on May 16, 2022.
He was predeceased by his wife Mabel Fraser; his son Robert Fraser; his sisters, Georgina and Melina (Famulak); as well as his brothers, Harold, Roderick, Alex and Donald. He is survived by his children, Ken, Diane (Larry), Brian (Rose), Tom; his many grandchildren and his great-grandchild.
Neil was full of life and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather. After retiring from the military, Dad joined Winnipeg Transit and retired from there in 1999. Many years afterwards he met Jean Griffin, who provided valued companionship and love to him in his final years.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on June 4, 2022 at 603 Wellington Crescent (First Unitarian Universalist Church.)
Neil's family kindly requests that his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by visiting his tribute page at EthicalDeathCare.com. A photo-biography, as well as memories and stories published by those who knew him, are available there.
Thanks to all who gave care to Dad including Dr. K. Lamba, Dr. V. Banerji, Dr. J. Bellas, Dr. L. Chisick, Dr. A. Mendelson, Dr. A. Ramadan, Dr. A. Schaffer, Dr. M. Sochocki, and all staff on GD4 and GH7 at the Health Sciences Centre.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I knew Neil through his brother, my uncle Don Fraser. Don Fraser was married to my father`s (Bernie Murray) sister Anna Fraser. I did not know Neil well but I always remember him lending a helping hand whenever he could. My father, uncle Don and his brother Neil would come and help with some of our home renovations at times. He was always cheerful and caring. I recently saw him at Uncle Don`s funeral as well as at my own father`s funeral in November of 2021. I was saddened to hear he had recently passed away. My family and I offer our condolences to the family. It has been a tough few years and losing someone so cherished makes it all the more difficult.
