SHIRLEY DONNA WALTON

Shirley Donna Walton (nee Bowling), aged 87, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning of May 25, 2022.
Shirley was the youngest daughter, born January 16, 1935 to her parents, Kathleen and Fred Bowling in Winnipeg, Manitoba
After graduating from high school, she had gotten a job at Canada Bread, where she met and fell deeply in love with her late husband Jack. They were married for over 65 years.
Shirley and Jack had four children. Left to mourn are Patricia (nee Olson) Seeley (Ken), Stephen Walton, Kimberley Collingridge (Evan) and Kevin "Doug" Walton (Imelda). Thus, further having six grandchildren, Braden Olson, Kenneth Walton, Hillary Olson (Adam), Kristen Walton (Ryan), Holland Collingridge (Luke) and Mackenzie Collingridge. Also, two great-grandchildren, Calvin and Amber Ada.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband Jack Walton and her brother Melvin Bowling and sister Doreen Woodall.
Shirley had a great love for singing and playing the piano, as well as singing in multiple choirs. Shirley had a zest for life, she loved to sew. She sewed lots of clothing and especially loved sewing Halloween costumes for their four children, she loved knitting and crocheting, enjoyed cooking and baking. Shirley loved clothes, she was a real fashionista. Shirley and Jack loved to go camping.
Shirley had many friends. After retiring, Shirley and Jack belonged to a senior's club and ran it for many years. They were so busy with retirement, if you wanted to visit with them you literally had to make an appointment.
Shirley and Jack loved their grandchildren. They were the apple of their eyes.
During her last couple of years, she resided with her husband Jack at Oakview Care Home in the same room on the second floor. Jack passed seven months before Shirley. She became very very lonely and suffered from a great deal of pain. We would all like to thank Oakview Place Care Home, 2nd floor for their above and beyond care. Thank you to all the health care aides and nurses, Susan, Barb and Tatiana. You all kept Mom and Dad safe during this ongoing pandemic.
It has been quite a journey, you are at peace now Mom, you are now with Dad, no more suffering.
We will all miss you to the moon and back, beyond belief. God Bless.
